Here, the firing remains part of what we see. Ash, heat and repeated firings leave their own evidence on the clay, recording a process that can be directed but never entirely controlled.

Sue Fraser's work reminds us that history only survives because somebody keeps making it. We often think of history as something that's finished. Something we look back on.

Her sculptural horses are quite interesting and rich with history, as they too will become history themselves. Standing in front of Sue's work, you're looking at centuries of ceramic knowledge, but you're also looking at this place. This landscape. This maker.
