Black Fig Gallery grew from a gap - one that became unmistakable after study, hosting a solo exhibition, and realising just how difficult it was to take the next step. Between life, work, and a creative drive that didn't sleep, there wasn't a clear path forward in the area - not as an artist
and not for collectors either.
So, I created what I was looking for.
A space where serious collectors could see, feel, and hear the story behind the work in a different way. A space where original art wasn't just shown - it was honoured, considered, and curated with intent. A space that made it easier for the next generation of artists to rise, not by chasing trends, but by holding ground.
Black Fig Gallery is built for those who care about a room's practical and emotional weight - working professionals, designers, collectors, health professionals and residential homes - anyone who spends time in a space and cares deeply
about what fills it.

The name - it's a nod to the ancient fig forest that once stood in Alstonville and to those who protected the ones that persevered. It's a tribute to something grounded, enduring, and quietly grand - like art that outlives trends and holds a kind of living memory. This gallery isn't about the founder. It was never meant to be. It's about what happens when you give meaningful work the right conditions to grow.
