A female figure stands amid skulls, fire and destruction, while beneath it all, a male figure bears the physical weight of the scene. He personifies a particular kind of patriarchal power - extreme wealth, entitlement, greed and the relentless pursuit of control. Leander quite literally reverses the hierarchy, placing the woman on top and leaving patriarchy to carry the weight.

Here we see the artist’s own hopes and desires for a world beyond systems designed to elevate one person at the expense of another or many.
