Venus stands physically tethered to a mass of discarded technology, her body connected by cables to the waste beneath her. The work makes visible the material remains of our increasingly digital and artificial lives. What feels weightless and invisible to us still has to be mined, manufactured, monetised, consumed and eventually discarded. And how separate are we, really, from that same cycle of consumption - are we in control, or have we become the product?
